Spain defeated the Netherlands 1-0 in extra time to reach the 2010 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday, July 11.

Andres Iniesta scored the only goal of the match in the 116th minute, sending Spain to their first World Cup final since 1984.

The match was a close fought affair, with both teams having chances to win in regulation time.

Spain had the better of the chances in the first half, but they were unable to find the back of the net.

The Netherlands had a great chance to take the lead in the second half, but Arjen Robben's shot was saved by Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

The match went to extra time, and Spain finally broke the deadlock in the 116th minute.

Iniesta received a pass from Cesc Fabregas and drove into the Netherlands penalty area.

He then cut inside and fired a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

The goal sent Spain to the final, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between Germany and Uruguay.
